It’s not easy for me to ask for help, but this is one of those moments in life where pride must take a step back. My sister and I are doing our best to take care of everything, but the costs have quickly gone beyond what we can handle alone.
Our father, Richard Larose, passed away peacefully on October 14, after a long and courageous fight following complications from surgery.
He was first admitted to the hospital at the end of August for an operation. After being released, he experienced unexpected complications that led to his readmission. For over a month, he remained in the hospital under close care, and later spent his final days at La Maison de l’Est, a hospice that surrounded him with compassion and dignity.
Throughout this time, our family stayed hopeful that he would recover and return home. Even during difficult days, his spirit and sense of humour never faded. Sadly, his health declined rapidly in the days leading up to his passing.
As we now face the reality of saying goodbye, we find ourselves struggling to cover the many unexpected costs that come with end-of-life care — including hospital expenses, funeral arrangements, and remaining obligations.
We’re reaching out to our community, family, and friends for support during this very difficult time. Any contribution, no matter the amount, will go directly toward these final expenses and help us give our dad the respectful farewell he deserves.
Your kindness, messages, and memories mean more than words can express. Thank you for keeping Richard in your thoughts and for helping us through this chapter with love and compassion.
With gratitude,
Serge & Mélanie Larose
