In Loving Memory of Richard Michael Hildebrand

Donation protected
Richard Michael Hildebrand aka Big Sexy, Pops, and Pop Pop was a loving husband, father, and first time grandpa to our precious granddaughter Hadlee. He adored his family and that was his goal in life.
Mike loved being a father of 2 amazing boys. They were his everything. From baseball to karate to hunting and fishing our boys were given the best life and turned out to be fine young men. Some of our best memories of life were made in the Keys on the water or at hunting camp. Mike and I would have been married 31 years this December and we were hoping for another 31 years.

Mike was diagnosed with Kidney failure for the 2nd time in December of 2019 and even though this would change his life committing to dialysis 3 days a week, it was better
then the alternative. Even knowing that the likely hood of his kidneys coming back would be rare he wanted to live.
In September of 2023 Mike began his journey of going in and out of the hospital every month complaining he didn’t feel good and something was not right. On May 6th Mike had a fall and was rushed to the ER where he was told he was Sepsis. The doctors said had he not been rushed to the ER he would have been dead in days. With that said to get rid of the infection they had to amputate his leg above the knee. The stump healed fine however he could not get better
medicalally. He suffered one issue after another. After 2 months in the hospital and a drain hooked to his lungs he was transferred to a critical illness facility where they would cure him medically and introduce PT so he could move to an accute rehabilitation center where he would learn how to maneuver with a prosthetic. A week before he passed he was sent to the ER again and this time his gallbladder was sepsis. They drained the gallbladder with hopes of removing it down the road because at the time his body would not be able to handle another surgery. On August 7th I was told his heart was only functioning at 15% and they were doing everything they could to make him comfortable. Sunday August 11th my son Chris and I received the call we never expected. He had passed. He fought a long hard time. His body just couldn’t keep up.

Unfortunately my husband did not have any life insurance and because of this there are insurmountable medical expenses. In lieu of flowers and food please consider a donation to help us.
