On 30 August 2026, our lives changed forever when Raffaele Bramante, aged just 48, tragically lost his life after being struck by a vehicle in a hit-and-run in Linlithgow. Raffaele was taken from his family and loved ones in the most sudden and heartbreaking circumstances, leaving behind a family who are now having to navigate unimaginable grief.

Raffaele’s daughter, just 18 years old, is now his next of kin and is having to take on the responsibility of arranging her father’s funeral while trying to process the loss of her dad. Much of Raffaele’s family live in Italy and do not speak English, meaning she is also carrying the enormous responsibility of communicating with and supporting her family during this devastating time.

We are hoping to raise funds to cover the cost of Raffaele’s funeral and cremation, which is currently expected to be around £5,000. His family have not yet had the opportunity to access any financial assistance or funding that may be available, and in the meantime the arrangements still need to be made.

I have set up this fundraiser because I want to take as much of the financial pressure away from Raffaele’s daughter and his family as possible, allowing them to focus on grieving, remembering Raffaele and being together rather than worrying about how they will afford to lay him to rest.
