In Loving Memory of Prismo: Help Cover Emergency Vet Costs

I've never made a GoFundMe before, so here goes nothing.
Prismo is a 6-year-old buff-colored domestic shorthair. He's in love with everyone and he's so strong. He was born with gastrointestinal issues and was rescued with acne and ringworm. Within a month, his acne and ringworm were cured, and his gastrointestinal issues were maintained.
On Monday, Nov. 17th, he underwent an emergency surgery for a foreign body in his intestines. The surgery was a success, but during recovery at the hospital, disinfectant was dropped/unattended and left spraying in front of his cage for a little over a minute, according to the manager of the hospital who looked over the footage. The hospital team then rinsed out his eyes for 15-20 minutes and contacted poison control for next steps. This left him with ulcers on his eyes and a concern that he might have ingested some chemicals. For the following week, he took medication for the surgery itself and now his eyes.
The hospital guaranteed they would cover the orthopedic cost for Prismo as a result of the incident, but we requested the entire $9,000 surgery cost be covered. We had already put down a $5,000 deposit, and the hospital agreed to waive the remaining $4,000 for the surgery. We are still waiting to hear back from their liability team for what could happen to the deposit we put down.
On the 28th, he exhibited some weird signs. We immediately brought him back to the emergency room three times within 24 hours as doctors continued to just see normal vitals and nothing popping up on the X-rays. On the third visit, a small bit of fluid in his stomach appeared and was tested. The following morning, he was left in hospital care as they monitored the fluid. Later that night, things developed quickly for the worse and he became septic.
Doctors were concerned that there was a 50/50 shot...leaning 70/30 for a successful surgery as the night went on. With there still being a chance, we went for the surgery. At the complete surprise of the doctors, he successfully had the surgery and they discovered another foreign body in his intestine that caused the leakage since he was still recovering from the first.
A few hours later, Sunday, Nov. 30, he passed away during recovery.
As I mentioned Prismo's a fighter and he had the most intense, stressful, and scary final two weeks and took them on with a brave face.
As you could imagine, the cost for the second surgery along with the X-rays and plasma used to prepare him for the surgery just kept compounding so quickly. We're now hitting $20,000 after the initial surgery deposit, X-rays, plasma, and second surgery.
This cost is understandable and would be easier to swallow had Prismo gone home successfully...now that he's gone, it's so much harder.
