In Loving Memory of Preston Rush
It is with deep sorrow that I share the passing of my best friend’s father, Preston Rush—a devoted father, loyal friend, and a truly remarkable man.
Preston was known for his strong work ethic, big heart, and unforgettable sense of humor. He had a passion for motorcycles and trucks, but his greatest loves in life was always his two children, Rachel and Jimmy. While his presence could be intimidating at first, anyone who spent time with him quickly saw the warm, caring, and hilarious man behind the tough exterior. He was a man of few words, but those words were always thoughtful—and often left you laughing.
If you ever needed something, Preston was there. He would drop anything to help those he loved. And if you couldn’t find him, he was almost always in the garage, working on his motorcycle for the hundredth time or fixing something around the house.
In 2021, Preston was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma and congestive heart failure. Despite his diagnosis, he remained unbelievably strong—continuing his projects, staying active, and always putting others first. Even when things became uncertain and hospital visits became more frequent, Preston never stopped thinking about Rachel and Jimmy’s well-being. He was their rock and always tried to protect them from stress and worry, even when his own condition worsened.
Sadly, Preston passed before he was able to secure the arrangements he had hoped for in order to ease the burden on his children. In light of this, I have created this GoFundMe on behalf of Rachel and Jimmy, in the hopes of supporting them during this deeply painful time. It is my sincere wish to see my best friend provide her father—the man who felt like a second father to me—with the dignified farewell he so truly deserves, without the added stress of financial hardship.
If you are able, please consider donating or sharing this fundraiser. Any contribution, no matter the size, will make a meaningful difference. No one should have to endure the loss of a parent so young, and every bit of support helps ease the weight of that grief.
