In Loving Memory Of PJ
Please help Pj’s family during this traumatic event..
Mark Anthony Otterbridge III, was best known to the world as Pj. He was a son, a brother, a nephew, a grandson, a uncle and a wonderful friend to everyone who knew him. He had a smile that could light up any room. Those that knew him instantly became attached and “loved them some pj.”
Pj came into this world a fighter. He was born with sickle-cell anemia. At about 1 they noticed his spleen would enlarge when he would get sick. Doctors then started him on chronic blood transfusions until he was 2 and would be eligible for an splenectomy. A few months before his 2nd birthday he got very sick and got admitted. He was then diagnosed as having dilated cardiomyopathy (congestive heart failure). He was in the hospital for months back to back fighting for his life. Eventually they regulated his medicines and he was able to come home. In August, he became eligible to receive the splenectomy. He stayed in the hospital about a week after his surgery.
In September, Pj got granted a wish through the Make A Wish Foundation. We ended up going to Disney World for 7 days. He had the best time of his life. It was such a wonderful experience.
November came and so did the problems. The first week Pj got sick with a cold. Doctors feared he wasn’t getting enough calories so the decided to try to give him an NG tube. He did fine the first 4 days with it in but soon as he came home he took it out. On November 15, he went to the doctor to get his feeding tube put back in and ended up getting admitted for respiratory distress. He spent weeks in the hospital having difficulty with his breathing. Pj finally gained his wings November 28 at 7:34 pm. He fought a good fight. He was one strong little boy and now all of his pain is gone.
Please help me bury my son. All prayers, thoughts, positive words, and ANY donations are greatly appreciated through this unexpected tragedy. Thank you everyone in advance.
