In Loving Memory of Patrick L. “Pat” Dean Sr.

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Patrick L. “Pat” Dean Sr., age 63, of Interlachen, who passed away on Thursday, December 11, 2025.

Pat was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend who cared deeply about both his family and his community. Born in Bartow, Florida, he spent more than five decades in west Putnam County after moving from Starke. A 1980 graduate of Interlachen High School, Pat also studied at St. Johns River State College in Palatka.

Pat proudly served his country in the U.S. Army, where he was stationed in South Korea. After his military service, he continued his commitment to public service as a corrections officer with the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office.

In recent years, Pat devoted countless hours as an active volunteer with Epic-Cure in Palatka, a vital, volunteer-driven nonprofit that rescues surplus food and redistributes it to fight hunger and food waste. Volunteering wasn’t just something Pat did — it was who he was. He believed deeply that everyone deserved access to food and dignity, and he gave his time freely to help make that happen.

Above all else, Pat cherished time with his wife, children, and grandchildren. His love for his family was evident in everything he did, and they were the center of his world.
