In loving memory and support of Jer Lor

Donation protected
Hi everyone, my name is Bryan Lor, and my heart aches as I write this. My amazing younger sister, Jer Lor, unexpectedly passed away, leaving a void in our family, especially for her three beautiful children.

Jer didn't have life insurance, and with the suddenness of her passing, the burden of funeral expenses and caring for her children feels overwhelming. We, the Lor family, are reaching out to anyone who knew Jer or simply wants to help a family in need.

Every donation, big or small, will make a world of difference. It will ease the financial strain of giving Jer a proper send-off that honors her memory and ensure her children have the resources they need to move forward.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your compassion and support during this difficult time.

Get to know my sister, Jer, by reading the following heartfelt obituary provided by our sister, Yia.

Jer Lor, 33, of Eau Claire passed away March 6, 2024. Born on June 15, 1990 in Madison, Wisconsin, she was the beloved daughter of William Lor and Lisa Thao. She graduated from North High School in 2008 and attended the Professional Hair Design Academy for cosmetology. She also graduated from the Chippewa Valley Technical College with a technical diploma in accounting assistant and had aspirations to continue her education to become an AODA counselor.

Jer had a generous spirit and enjoyed volunteering in her community, from homeless shelters to music festivals. She also provided numerous free haircuts to individuals in need. Her daughters, son, nieces, and nephews all loved spending time with her. She was a phenomenal cook, known for her grilling abilities and legendary fruit salad. An artist at heart, Jer found solace in creative pursuits, including drawing, painting, and crafting with the children in her life. Her sense of humor and bright spirit had the remarkable ability to light up any room she entered.

Above all, Jer loved her family. Her unwavering support and kindness were evident in all that she did. She was always willing to extend a helping hand, ensured no one went hungry, and could bring laughter into any situation. Jer was also a proud mother of three children and instilled values of kindness, compassion, and hard work, leaving behind a legacy that will be cherished by all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Jer leaves behind her parents, William Lor and Lisa Thao; brothers Seng (Amanda), Chong Ya, and Fong; sisters Yeng (Tou) and Yia (Nick); children Dontae, Kiana, and Mia, along with many nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Jer was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, paternal grandfather and uncle, and cousin Chue Lao.

The Lor family would like to extend their deepest gratitude for the loving care Jer received from Mayo Clinic Health System’s Critical Care Unit.
