Hi My name is Sarah Cox, I am the Auntie of Tom Thorpe who's life has changed forever.

You have probably seen this all over the news and social media platforms (not with my nephews consent I may add).

But It is with unimaginable heartbreak that we share the tragic loss of our beautiful girl, Aria Thorpe, who was taken from us far too soon at just 9 years old. She was a loving daughter, step daughter, granddaughter, sibling, niece and friend whose smile, laughter, and kind heart touched everyone who knew her. My Nephew and his families lives have been forever changed by this devastating loss.

Aria’s life was taken in a tragic incident, and their family is now navigating an overwhelming amount of grief, shock, Anger and pain no family should ever have to endure. As they try to process this tragedy and honour her life, they are also facing unexpected financial burdens, including travel expenses with the distance between Portsmouth to Weston-super-Mare, funeral and memorial costs, and time away from work so their family can be together during this heartbreaking time.

It has not been mentioned in the media that Aria had a very supportive dad, her parents may have been divorced but my nephew played a massive role in Aria and her sisters upbringing along with his partner and Aria's half sister and step brother, she had very regular contact with them all and spent many happy times at their home in Portsmouth, this has affected them all as a family. They are also experiencing the same grief and financial burden as anyone.

I am asking for support from people across our community and further a field to help ease these financial pressures so they can focus on grieving, supporting one another, and laying their sweet girl to rest with the love and dignity she deserves. I know this is a busy time of the year and very expensive for many but any donation, no matter the amount, will help more than words can express.
