In Loving Memory of Our Mom – Seeking Justice & Support

Our beautiful mother passed away on June 25, 2025, under circumstances that are painful, confusing, and filled with unanswered questions. Just two months ago, on April 25, our mom was arrested during a mental health crisis. She suffered from bipolar schizophrenia, and during a psychotic episode, instead of receiving treatment in a mental health facility where she could be stabilized and supported, she was placed in North Las Vegas jail for 2 months.

On June 24th, we called Clark County Jail, where she was stated to have been transferred and were told she was still in booking at the jail. Then on June 25th, two hours before she passed, we were suddenly told she was in Valley Hospital after actually being admitted on June 21st. We were told that her sodium was very high and her kidneys were failing and that her condition was rapidly declining. We had no idea she was even transferred to the hospital. For four days, we’ve were left completely in the dark.

We still do not know what caused her death.

The hospital will not release her medical records, even to her direct family without support from the law. We are being told we need to file formal requests and go through legal channels, just to learn how our own mother passed away. This is unacceptable. We are devastated, angry, and heartbroken.

We believe that neglect and systemic failure led to our mother’s death. She should have been in a psychiatric facility, not left untreated in jail for months. She should have received compassion and care, not silence and secrecy.

Our mom was a free spirit, full of life, love, and laughter. She had a powerful soul and a resilient heart. Despite all she faced, she kept pushing forward. She lit up every room, and she never let the world dim her shine. She was a fighter, a mother, a daughter, a friend and a soul who loved deeply.

She was not her illness. She was a human being who deserved compassion, treatment, and dignity.
