In loving memory of our father, Shannon Hayes
Donation protected
Hi everyone I am doing this GoFundMe me on behalf of Olivia, Jaydn and Tayvon Hayes for their beloved father, Shannon, who unfortunately passed away unexpectedly on the morning of September 14th, 2023, from what the medical examiners believe was a heart attack.
The past 6-ish months have been hard on the girls, and the ones close to him worrying about his health. The afternoon of September 13th, 2023 Shannon and James dropped off their granddaughter, Marli, at Olivias work so James could take Shannon to the hospital. He went in with major chest pains, weakness, shortness of breath and severely swollen legs and ankles. While waiting at UW Hospital for 3 hours, they made the decision to leave after not being helped and cared for. Granted, we do understand that hospital staff and doctors are busy but he should have been considered a priority given his severe symptoms. His heath was neglected. His life was at risk in that moment, and could have possibly been saved had he got the correct care. Without being able to see a doctor for so long, and needing rest, he decided to leave UW Hospital without seeing a doctor, and not knowing how much that decision would impact not only his life, but everyone who loved and cared about him. The morning of September 14th,2023, James helped Shannon get dressed to go to urgent care because of the continued worsening symptoms. Upon arrival to UW Union Corners, Shannon immediately went into cardiac arrest in front of the building before James could get him inside. He called Olivia as the doctors began attempts to revive him. She was just around the corner and was able to get there quickly. The doctors worked effortlessly for 30 mins to revive him but unfortunately he took his last breath while his daughter and father watched. Shocked and devastated.
Just about a year ago the girls lost their grandma to congestive heart failure and now this sudden death has took a major toll on the family as they have no written will or preparations for such a tragedy. I am asking for help for the family so they can lay Shannon to rest in the way he deserved. He was the most selfless, loving, father,, son grandfather and uncle, who would put anybody before himself. No matter the circumstances, he was always there for others. Especially his grandchildren, whom he loved more than anything in the world. Marli, 5 and Zeppelin, 3 will miss him tremendously and will never get the opportunity to know how great he was.
We appreciate any donations, no matter how big or small, because anything helps. Thank you in advance for any help that is offered. The family is in total shock and this will ease the stress of this process. Thank you.
