Our Rocky
I write this with a heavy heart ️
I hope that you all find it in your hearts to donate towards Rocky Medical Bills and Memorial Expenses.
As you all know Rocky was our family baby. None of us saw him as a dog. We literally treated him like a baby . He was by our side day and night. He ate with us and slept with us. When we were sick or sad he always knew and would remain by our side to feel better.
What happened to Rocky was so heartbreaking none of us saw it coming.
On Wednesday last week he fell off our bed. We thought he had re-fractured his spinal cord. Given the fact our bed is high and we have wooden floors and how he landed on his back. But that wasn’t the case, shortly thereafter he started to decline. So two days later, now being Friday we decided to take him to his Vet Dr. and got him examined. At that time his Vet Dr said he probably did injured his spine and he was placed back on pain medication and inflammation medications to help him. Then on Saturday morning his health took a turn for the worse . That early morning we woke up to our baby boy having seizures and we rushed him to the nearest Vet Hospital. During the rush to the hospital he coded on us and we had to revive him to get him to resume breathing. He was then admitted to the hospital for treatment and observation. The Vet Dr then got him stable and Rocky had started to respond and was breathing on his own. They hospital planned to keep him under observation and watch him for 24 hours until he was ready to come home with medication. Shortly thereafter he couldn’t breathe on his own any more and was put on a ventilator (breathing machine). He was then transferred by Pet ambulance to a Vet Specialty hospital who could treat his seizures and medicate him, while under continuous observation. That’s when we were told that he had an undetected Neurological condition that affects the brain which was causing him to have multiple seizures and his brain to swell. So that’s when the doctor started him on treatments to reduce both the swelling and stop the seizures.
He started to respond back and we were hopeful of his recovery. But then Sunday morning I got the call that Rocky wasn’t doing too well and was not responding to the treatment. He had fallen into a coma and it was recommended that we let him go.
Once there the Vet Specialist examined him one last time and told us he is brain dead that there was no response towards the last dose of his treatment ️
So we had to make the heartbreaking decision to take him off his ventilator and let him go
Because of our efforts in trying our hardest to save him we now have his Vet Bill and Memorial Expenses. So we ask for each and every one of you to please help us with any size of donations. It is much needed at this time and would be greatly appreciated.
