Help us to honour our late father Marlon Samuel’s final wish

On Saturday, June 21st, 2025, our beloved father, Marlon Samuel, passed away, leaving behind his children, a heartbroken family, and a lifetime of cherished memories.

While his physical presence is no longer with us, his warmth, humour, wisdom, and love continue to guide us every day.

Our dad came to the UK in 1983 but his heart never left Trinidad. He was proud of his roots and never traded his Trinidadian passport for a British one. His identity, spirit, and culture were deeply tied to the island he called home.

He expressed this pride through the food he cooked, the stories he told us about his upbringing, and the vibrant music he loved.

He had a deep passion for music and was an up-and-coming DJ in Trinidad before moving to the UK. Even after settling in London, music remained a big part of his life for many years. A true expression of his spirit and energy.

He passed these traditions down to us, and through them, we came to love and understand the rich culture of Trinidad.

Throughout his life, he made one thing very clear to us—he wanted to be laid to rest back home.

“England too cold,” he would always say with a smile. It was more than a joke, it was his heartfelt wish.

We’re hoping to raise funds to cover the costs of transporting our father from London to Trinidad, funeral home costs on both ends, live streaming and transportation, and giving him the burial he wanted and truly deserves.

Any contribution, no matter the size, would be deeply appreciated and would help us in honouring our dad Marlon Samuel’s memory.
