With heavy hearts, we share this page on behalf of the Loureiro family—most especially for Nuno’s three daughters, whose lives were forever changed by this sudden and devastating tragedy. Nuno Loureiro was not only a brilliant scientist and a dear friend, but also a deeply devoted husband and father who cared profoundly about his daughters’ futures, their education, and the opportunities he worked tirelessly to provide for them.

Nuno and his wife built a family life rooted in love and stability, one filled with laughter and joy, learning and growth. But it was tragically cut short by a senseless act of violence that has robbed his family of the precious time and resources needed to continue guiding, supporting, and providing for their daughters.

We are deeply grateful for the outpouring of support, kindness, and solidarity from friends, colleagues, and the broader community during this unimaginably difficult time. É com grande consternação que partilhamos esta página em nome da família do Nuno Loureiro — especialmente pelas suas três filhas, cujas vidas mudaram para sempre com esta tragédia súbita e devastadora.

O Nuno não era apenas um cientista brilhante e um amigo querido, mas também um marido e um pai profundamente dedicado, que tinha como preocupação maior o futuro das filhas, a sua educação e as oportunidades que lhes permitissem a realização dos seus sonhos.

O Nuno e a Inês construíram uma vida alicerçada no amor e na estabilidade, repleta de risos e alegria, aprendizagem e crescimento. Porém, esta vida foi tragicamente interrompida por um ato de extrema violência, sem sentido, que lhes roubou esse tempo precioso, o futuro e os recursos necessários para continuar a orientar, apoiar e educar as suas filhas.

Estamos profundamente gratos pela onda de apoio, carinho e solidariedade demonstrada por amigos, colegas e pela comunidade em geral durante este momento tão difícil e trágico.
