In loving memory of Nikolai Sorokin

To my friends…

I am writing this letter to let you know that my dear friend Nikolai chose to end his life today.

A little over 2 months ago Nikolai was admitted to Ottawa General Hospital with what seemed benign acute back pain, a short time later a crashing diagnosis came out stating an advanced form of stage 4 lung cancer with metastatic lesions throughout Nikolai’s entire body.

Nikolai was battling cancer hard, but the spread of cancer throughout all of his body rapidly continued despite all of the efforts. In the face of these facts Nikolai decided to end this battle on his terms with medically assisted ending of the life process.

Nikolai was an incredible beautiful soul that brought a lot of love, happiness, and comfort to the ones he loved. He did not have any children and he is survived by his pensioner wife who was depended on Nikolai’s smaller than modest income.

I will always keep my memories of Nikolai in my heart, rest in peace, my dear friend.

While Nikolai was a beautiful and free soul, the cost of funeral services is not. This funding campaign is an attempt to support Nikolai’s wife in this dark chapter of her life. Any help is appreciated.
