It is with broken hearts that we share the loss of our beloved sister and aunt, Nancy Cerda Winn, whose life was taken in a tragic family event that also claimed the life of her husband, Jerry. Nancy was the kind of person who showed up—always. She helped her nieces and nephews, her mom, dad, her siblings, and especially her brother—my father—and me. No matter what challenges she faced in her own life, she never hesitated to answer a call, listen without judgment, or offer comfort and help. She was a source of love, companionship, laughter, and strength for all of us, and her biggest pride were her beautiful grandbabies.

You can imagine from hearing this how hard this reality has hit for many of us. As we gather now with Nancy’s youngest son to grieve and remember her, we are committed to surrounding him with the same love and support that Nancy so freely gave to others. He is facing an unimaginable loss, and our hope is to ease at least one burden during this painful time. This fundraiser is to help cover funeral and memorial expenses so that Nancy and Jerry can be laid to rest with dignity, surrounded by family, love, remembrance, and the warmth Nancy brought into every room—along with good food, shared stories, laughter, and tears. We want her son to have peace of mind, knowing he does not have to worry about the financial costs during this time of grief.
