In Loving Memory of My Dad — Funeral & Family Support
Donation protected
I never thought I’d be the person starting a GoFundMe. I’m fiercely independent, and asking for help isn’t something that comes easily to me.
But this weekend, I experienced the most devastating loss of my life: my dad passed away at 76 years old.
If you know me, you know how deeply I’ve loved and cared for my parents my whole life. I’ve always been that daughter—the one who shows up, who handles things, who is relied on. And I’m proud to carry that role, even now in the middle of heartbreak.
My dad didn’t have a will or life insurance. He and my mom lived modestly. My mom has MS and is on a fixed income, and without my dad’s support, things will be even more difficult for her moving forward. I’m doing what I can, but I can’t carry it all alone.
That’s why I’m reaching out—for help covering the immediate funeral and memorial costs, but also to help ease the transition for my mom in the months ahead. Your support will go toward funeral expenses and help offset the loss of household income so she can stay afloat during this incredibly hard time.
My dad was a Vietnam veteran and a paratrooper. He was sensitive and gentle. He gave up drinking the day I was born and never touched it again. He worked night shifts to support our family. He taught me to play chess, built me forts in the backyard, and took me blackberry picking every summer. He didn’t have many friends—but he had me. And I’ll have his back, even now.
If I’ve ever touched your life, or if my story speaks to you, any contribution—no matter the size—means the world. Thank you for your love and support.
