In Loving Memory of Miriam Editha Aguilar Gorre
Donation protected
On the morning of April 11th, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones, Miriam Editha A. Gorre from Spencerport, New York, peacefully passed away after a four-year battle with breast cancer. A battle also shared by two of her sisters.
Miriam was a devoted wife, a loving mother, and a cherished "Lola" (grandmother).
To many, she embodied a quiet, gentle warmth; however, those closest to her recognized her fierce devotion to her faith and her steadfast resolve to uphold her beliefs, morals, and values throughout her spiritual journey on Earth.
This devotion extended beyond her spiritual life to her family, dear friends, the Filipino community, and the Traditional Catholic Latin Mass community that she and her husband, Vincent, had been part of for over 20 years.
Her kindness, generosity, and hospitality were widely known. She often hosted gatherings, prepared meals for large groups, and ensured that guests never left empty-handed. She enjoyed having children around, frequently organizing crafts, games, art projects, cooking, baking, and gardening activities. Her three granddaughters hold many fond memories of summer days spent at "Camp Lola." She instilled a strong foundation of faith in her children and grandchildren and exemplified selfless acts of charity and love.
Miriam was born on April 15, 1954, in Manila, Philippines, to Col. Francisco C. Aguilar, who served in the United States Armed Forces in the Far East (USAFFE) and Fausta Serrano Aguilar. She was the youngest of eight children and an alumna of Saint Scholastica’s College and the Philippine Women’s University in Manila. She married Vincent Omar Gorre on June 24, 1978, and together they enjoyed a wonderful 46 years of marriage.
Miriam is survived by her husband, Vincent; her son, Michael; her daughters, Catherine (Aaron) and Maria (John); and her grandchildren, Alivia, Elisea, and Julia. She also leaves behind her brother, Mr. Jose Aguilar; her sisters, Mrs. Mary Joan Angeles, Mrs. Marietta Munoz, and Mrs. Agnella Bandril; along with many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Mrs. Maria Teresa Teodosio, Dr. Erlinda Mariano, and Mrs. Maria Lourdes Buncayo.
In her honor, we have organized this fundraiser to assist her husband, Vincent Gorre, with funeral and living expenses in the wake of this heartbreaking loss. A portion of the proceeds will also be donated to Mt. Carmel House, where she spent her final moments.
On behalf of the Gorre family, we extend our heartfelt gratitude for your support and love.
