In loving memory of Mike Ertel

My name is Grace Harvey, niece of Michael Ertel, and I will be running this GoFundMe in his memory.

    On November 5th, 2019 the world lost a beautiful soul. The short fifty-two years we were given with Michael were simply not enough.  I  along with many others, are forever grateful for the role he played in each of our lives. To many, Michael was a light that brought happiness and joy at the times when we needed it the most. He touched so many people’s lives, more than he would ever know. Michael was a volunteer fireman at Harris Hill Fire Company in Clarence for twenty years. He also received the honor of being named firefighter of the year in 2004. He was always there to help anyone and everyone, and offered unconditional love.
    Michael was faced with many hardships throughout his life but never weathered these storms alone. He always put the needs of others as his top priority, but later faced some challenges as we all do. During these times, Michael was surrounded by overflowing love and support from so many. These people, as we have now come to know, were Michaels angels. Helping him through the times when he needed guidance and love the most. These people, without even realizing it, made Michaels life here on earth so abundant.
    I decided to start this GoFundMe in Michael's memory to now provide support for the people who were there for him when he needed it most. One of these people being Michaels previous room-mate. He dedicated a good portion of his time with Michael taking care of him when in need. They both provided a necessary and loving support system for each other throughout their time living together. Since Michaels's passing, his room-mate’s rent has doubled creating a financial strain all during such a difficult time. Michaels goal was to help those from all different walks of life. I know that he would want us to do the same, and provide those around us with endless love and support.
