In Loving Memory of Miguel Beltran

Donation protected
Miguel was originally diagnosed with sarcoma in January 2018. What we thought was just a flu bug turned into the next year of our lives. In the beginning, doctors told Miguel that there was nothing they could do for him - that we needed to enjoy the next two months with him to the best of our abilities. But we refused to take “no” for an answer. After hundreds of attempted cries for help, we found our saving grace in Barnes Jewish Hospital. Miguel’s new team of doctors refused to give up on him and they blessed us with another year to enjoy our dad, husband, son and brother. Miguel fought this ugly disease with every last breath. He lived in constant fear of what everyone else’s lives would become after he’d be gone, he was always such a selfless soul. Even in the last several days of his life, Miguel was given the option to try ONE more type of chemotherapy even though doctors told him that his chances of survival or improvement period, were low. He said yes. Before he was able to make it back to Barnes Jewish, Miguel spent his final hours at home with his family. Surrounded by his loved ones, Miguel took his last breath at home at 10:25am on March 5th, 2019. It was a battle well fought. During this time, I don’t want my mother or Miguel’s family to worry about a thing and just simply take the time to breathe and grieve. Thank you all so much for any contribution and all of your thoughts and prayers. We love each one of you, and so did Miguel.
