In Loving Memory of Michael Marek

This GoFundMe is being set up to help the family of Michael Marek for funds for cremation and a celebration of life service.

The afternoon of April 21, 2025, Michael and his family's life was changed for the worse due to a traumatic accident that led to his life being taken on June 1, 2025.

Michael suffered from a traumatic fall from the top of the stairs of his second-story apartment. The fall caused a traumatic brain injury and numerous broken/fractured bones, including his skull, neck, back, ribs, and more. The doctors did not expect him to make it through the night. With much fight and urge to live, Michael proved them wrong and fought through the night. But due to the severity of the fall, it led to several complications and numerous surgeries. He was placed on life support and had many other tests and treatments over the course of almost 6 weeks. Unfortunately, he wasn’t healing the way we had all hoped. With a heavy heart, we all agreed to put him on comfort care on Friday, May 30th. Late morning on June 1st, Michael passed with his family by his side.

Michael left behind his wife, his mother, 3 daughters, 2 bonus children, 2 granddaughters, and one bonus granddaughter. Those that knew Michael knew he would give the shirt off his back for anyone in need. He even continued by being a transplant donor after his death. He spent his last birthday in ICU and was only 48 for 2 weeks before passing. Being so young and the fall being so unexpected, we were blindsided by losing him. He did not have insurance in place at the time of the accident. We are a very humble family, so this is out of our comfort zone to ask for help. But we were financially unprepared for such a tragedy and would like to give him a proper service that he deserves.
