We are heartbroken to share that Michael James Mandel passed away peacefully on June 28, 2025. Mike was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, and the countless ways he helped and supported others throughout his life.

As we navigate this difficult time, we are asking for help to cover final expenses and to honor Mike’s wishes. Donations will go toward his cremation costs, and to help his beloved wife, Nancy Mandel, as she faces the many expenses that come in the weeks and months ahead.

Mike received wonderful care from Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice, and we are so grateful for their compassion and support during his final days.

Michael James Mandel
December 6, 1955 – June 28, 2025

Michael James Mandel, age 69, of Sheboygan, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on June 28, 2025.

Michael was born on December 6, 1955, in Sheboygan to the late Richard and Marilyn Mandel. He graduated from North High School in Sheboygan in 1974 and soon after proudly served in the United States Navy as a medic attached to a Marine Corps Recon Unit stationed in Okinawa, Japan, until 1977. Following his service, he attended the University of Wisconsin–Eau Claire, where he studied Agriculture.

Michael was a dedicated and hardworking man throughout his life. After college, he started his own flooring business, which he ran for several years. Over the years, he worked for various companies, including FedEx, Kohler Company, Frito Lay Company, and later worked factory jobs until his retirement.

Michael was united in marriage to Kathy Neimuth, with whom he welcomed his beloved son, Ryan. In 1996, he married Nancy Hildebrand, and they shared many years of love and devotion together.

He was happiest spending time outdoors fishing, especially with his son, Ryan. Michael also enjoyed cooking and gathering with his family. He will be remembered for his kind and selfless nature, his generous spirit, and his willingness to help anyone in need. He was devoted to his wife and family, and cared deeply for his parents in their later years.

Michael is survived by his loving wife, Nancy Mandel; his son, Ryan Mandel; and his cherished grandchildren: Nadia, Nicholas, and Kinsley. He is further survived by his stepchildren, Tosten Schmitt and Natalie (Sean) Brasted; his brothers, Todd (Patty) Mandel and Jeffery Mandel; his sister, Terri Lee (Jim); nieces and nephews including Dana, Kristy, Jennifer, and others; as well as extended family and several grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Marilyn Mandel.

Michael’s family is deeply grateful for the wonderful care and compassion he received from Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice. In accordance with his wishes, Michael will be cremated, and there will be no memorial service. His legacy of kindness, generosity, and dedication will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
