In Loving Memory of Michael Jackson Messias

Donation protected
Dear Community,

We are heartbroken that Michael passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, March 12, 2022 at the age of 15. Michael was a loving son, brother and friend. He had a kind soul, a bright smile and playful sense of humor. Michael enjoyed listening to Michael Jackson’s music and anything Disney– especially Mickey Mouse. He also loved to cook, swim and play video games. Super Mario and Michael Jackson: The Experience were some of his favorites. He was tech savvy and said he was going to become a “video game man” when he grew up, designing and playing video games. As an aspiring engineer and architect, he used Minecraft to create his own versions of places he liked, including Disneyland, KFC and a music store full of fine details.

He was a lifelong resident of Alameda and attended Special Day Classes at Woodstock CDC, Edison Elementary School, Ruby Bridges Elementary School, Wood Middle School and Alameda High School. He was a straight A student who was always on honor roll. During the pandemic he attended Remote School for 9th grade and spent most of 10th grade also unable to attend in person due to the severity of his epileptic seizures.

Please join us in honoring Michael and showing love and support to his mother Dammie Williams and older brother Matthew. Not only are they grieving their son and brother, they are also experiencing financial hardship. Dammie had been receiving income to help her care full-time for Michael and support his medical needs. With his passing she lost a precious child and the majority of her income all at once. She is a devoted mother now having to worry about basic living expenses while also coping with this devastating experience. Funds raised will go towards his final expenses, the memorial service and financial support in this time of unimaginable loss.

Let’s rally together as a community so the family can have time to grieve Michael and make arrangements to honor his life, without also having additional financial stress. Michael always looked out for his mother and protected her. His last words to her were “Excuse me, you’re the best mom in the world. I love you so much more than more.”

Thank you for your support,
Holly, Naoko, and Tim.
