Our world was shattered when our dad passed away so suddenly at just 55 years old, only weeks away from his 56th birthday. He went into hospital to have a brain tumour removed, and for a moment we thought he was going to be okay. The doctors were preparing to release him, but that night everything changed—he suffered bleeding on the brain, and we were told there was nothing more they could do to save him.

Dad left behind his children, including a young son who will now grow up without his father’s love and guidance. He was all we had, and now we’re facing not only the heartbreak of losing him but also the painful reality of not being able to give him the farewell he deserves.

Because our nan, his mother, is in a wheelchair with multiple health conditions and unable to work, she has been left to carry the weight of the cremation costs, which are still unpaid. She simply couldn’t afford a coffin or a public viewing, so Dad had to be cremated without family and friends being able to gather and say their final goodbyes.

This fundraiser is to help cover the outstanding cremation bill and to give his mum the chance to arrange a proper public wake and memorial, so that all of Dad’s family, friends, and loved ones can come together, celebrate his life, and say goodbye in the way he deserves.
