It is with a heavy heart IID shares the news of demise of Mrs. Meera Devi, leaving a shadow of her with her beloved Laxman. She was a visiting parent to Vidya, Ravi and her grandchildren Saanvi and Vansh in Didcot.
She was admitted to John Radcliffe Oxford following a sudden and unexpected abdomen pain on 12th Aug. Her condition went from bad to worse and deteriorated rapidly in the Critical Care / ICU ward with multiple organ failure. After various several tests and scans, the specialists diagnosed the root cause as severe acute Necrotising Pancreatitis and Portal Vein Thrombosis. She finally lost the battle in the afternoon of Aug 14th.
As she is away from her hometown, IID would like to honour her memory and give her a farewell (19th Aug / Monday) she deserves. We are hereby taking the step forward to raise funds and welcome the Indian community to join in her final journey making any contribution you may wish to make.
In her daughter/ Vidya's own words: Meera was a born leader who inspired people around her. She was selfless and always gave back to community participating in charity events and supporting people in need. She devoted a part of her life to raise funds to build a shiv temple in Ranchi, Jharkhand, India and was the First Lady to lay the foundation brick for it .
Kindly consider extending your support to this family whether that's sharing Meera's story, posting this GoFundMe link on your social media accounts, or contributing to this fund. Every so often an opportunity presents itself where we as a community can give karma a nudge in the right direction.
Much appreciated,
Friends, Well-wishers and Family of Meera.
