Dear Friends, Supporters, and Compassionate Strangers,
My name is Sharon Hamel, and I am writing to you on behalf of the Forbes family during this incredibly difficult time. I am a member of the Boston Temple congregation, and I have had the privilege of knowing Maxine Forbes and walking alongside her family for many years. Maxine, along with her son Christopher and her mother Zeinna (who passed away in August 2022), has been a cherished member of our church community, deeply involved in service and leadership.
Maxine passed away on June 17 after a brave fight with a debilitating brain condition. Her passing leaves a profound void for her family and all who knew her. The family is now grieving the loss of Maxine while also managing the financial burdens of funeral expenses, travel costs for family members to attend the service in Jamaica, and related needs. Additionally, they continue to bear the financial strain from Maxine’s medical treatments and long-term care before her passing.
We are raising funds to help alleviate these financial pressures during this difficult time. The funds will be used to cover funeral and travel costs, enabling the family to focus on honoring Maxine’s memory without the added stress of financial concerns.
Your generous support, whether large or small, will make a significant difference in helping the Forbes family navigate this difficult journey. If you are unable to contribute financially, your prayers, thoughts, and well-wishes are equally appreciated.
Maxine lived her life with the joy of the Lord, a joy that amazed and inspired everyone around her. As it says in Nehemiah 8:10, "The joy of the Lord is your strength." Maxine’s strength was rooted in her faith and her unshakable joy, even in these most difficult times.
Thank you for your kindness, compassion, and support during this time of mourning.
