Maximus Etienne Valencia-Forever in Our Hearts
Donation protected
With shattered hearts, we share the unimaginable loss of Maximus, who passed away far too soon at just 18 years old.
Maximus was a radiant spirit — a devoted son, a protective older brother, and a true friend to many. He carried a quiet strength, a brilliant mind, and a soul full of kindness.
Creative to his core, Maximus found joy in freehand drawing and sculpting intricate molds and models. These were some of his proudest achievements — reflections of a vivid imagination and a unique artistic voice. He was also a talented cook who loved making chocolate Nutella soufflés and enjoying burgers, Chinese food, and his all-time favorite, In-N-Out.
Maximus had a special connection with animals — especially cats. They were drawn to his gentle nature. He cared for seven of his own and often took in strays, feeding and loving them as if they were his own.
On the football field, Maximus wore #77 with pride, playing with grit and determination. Off the field, he immersed himself in fantasy worlds like Elden Ring and Dark Souls, drawn to stories of perseverance and purpose. He related to heroes who battled silently — a reflection of the quiet challenges he faced.
Above all, Maximus brought light, warmth, and humor into the lives of those around him. One of his favorite quotes perfectly captures his clever wit:
“Life is like a sandwich — no matter how you flip it, the bread comes first.”
Maximus is survived by his loving younger brother, Mel; his mother, Marjolin; and his father, Steve. Their world has changed forever, and they now face the unimaginable journey of grief and healing.
