Prayers for Maurice.

A very dear friend of ours suffered horrific third and fourth-degree burns that engulfed 70% of his body. He was happily cooking for his family, and a gas leak led the oven broiler to explode. He was transported to the best burn hospital in Texas, where every two days he had surgery. He was being cared for by the top burn doctors and surrounded by his loving family. Those of us who could not physically be by his side all united in prayer for his recovery. Hundreds of friends were shocked and devastated by what had transpired.

We started a chat where daily and hourly we checked in and sent him our love, positive affirmations, our hopes, and support for his recovery.

Maurice gave it his all. Every inch of his body tried to fight the pain every minute of the day. There would have been many surgeries and a very long and painful road to recovery. Every minute and day he fought for his life was celebrated. Always grateful for every step forward and letting God lead the way. Despite multiple surgeries and the incredible efforts of the medical team, he left us far too soon.

On Dec 21st, 2025, he was called by GOD. His pain and suffering ended.

“He filled all of us with tremendous light, energy, and love. He always gave so much of himself. He was the light of every party, every dinner, every event. His smile was truly infectious. He will be missed beyond words. I will miss him dearly, sending him love and prayers. May our dear Maurice rest in peace.”
