On October 15, my dear friend, Heather Conner, experienced every parent’s worst nightmare — the unimaginable loss of her beloved 21-year-old son, Mason Hanks. There are no words that can ease the pain of losing a child, and no one ever plans or saves for the day they would have to lay their own child to rest.

Heather is a devoted Pearland ISD teacher who has poured her heart into her students and community for years. Now, it’s our turn to pour that love and support back into her and her family as they walk through this heartbreaking time.

This GoFundMe has been created to help ease the unexpected financial burden that comes with such a sudden loss — funeral expenses, time away from work, and other immediate needs. While no amount can take away the pain, we hope to lift some of the weight from their shoulders so they can focus on grieving and honoring Mason’s memory.
