In Loving Memory of Mark "McKay" Cunningham

With heavy hearts, we share the passing of our wonderful friend Mark — a fiercely loyal friend, devoted husband, proud Sun Devil, dog dad, fraternity brother, grill master, music lover, and walking encyclopedia of random facts (especially history!). He was the guy who gave 100% to everything — a quick wit, a big heart, and a soul that made everyone feel seen, feel welcomed, and laugh even on their worst day.
With nearly 20 years on the air at WGH Eagle 97 in Hampton Roads as a beloved, award winning afternoon drive air personality on country radio, Mark went on to serve as music director and then later programming director before later transitioning to the label side of the music industry. In every role, Mark was loved by so many.
Mark was truly one of a kind. Whether creating holiday memories with friends like family, cheering on his AZ teams, naming the Thanksgiving ham “Cletus,” or perfecting his charcoal grill skills at the beach (eventually, anyway!), he embraced life with joy and humor. He was never judgmental, always compassionate, and unfailingly had our backs. From always being the first to get you a beer to soaking a salt-cured ham in the bathtub for their first Thanksgiving in Virginia, every memory of him makes us laugh and cry in equal measure.
Mark’s passing leaves an immeasurable void, and his wife Christi — his forever teammate and soulmate — now faces mounting expenses no one should shoulder alone.
If you’ve been asking how to help, this fund is designed to help them cover and recover these costs. No pressure, just give if you can. Share if you will. And toast a beer in his honor.
We love you Mark and Christi.
