In loving memory of Marisa Nisbet

For the many who were blessed to know Marisa, you would first remember her smile. Her joy, humor and infectious spirit has touched so many. Her passing has shocked and saddened all those who loved her so dearly.

 

Yet, Marisa was a happy girl and she wouldn’t want anyone to dwell in sadness. So when we thought about where she was at her happiest, it was always under water!

 

Through the multi award-winning immersion therapy offered by Determined 2, she quite literally breathed under water. Immersion therapy enables people to discover the freedom of movement under water via scuba. To experience complete weightlessness and just let go was one of the most healing experiences for her. The only problem was getting her out of the pool!

 

Determined2 values inclusion, dignity and responsibility. The incredible team are angels here on earth that enable everyone to experience the freedom that water therapy provides.

 

Marisa has always been a water baby, eagerly anticipating the next time she could be in water. I remember teaching Marisa to hold her breath as a child by holding her nose and quite literally dunking her head. It was tough love, the big sister way!

 

What better way to honour Marisa’s incredible life than to offer others the chance to let go underwater too.

 

All funds will be donated to Determined2 to help continue their incredible work. Funds will be controlled and released by Marisa’s family to enable others to share in the joy of immersion therapy.

 

Forever in our hearts. Scuba will be her legacy.
