In Loving Memory of Maria Lorena Varela

All of us have been deeply saddened by the passing of Maria Lorena Varela on Tuesday, October 26, 2021.

Maria had been discharged from the hospital and was at the clinic for a follow-up, when she quietly and suddenly had a heart attack in the waiting room. After an hour of CPR, medical personnel were unable to restart her heart and was declared deceased.

She had been suffering both physically and emotionally of a broken heart. Her health declined rapidly after her husband's passing. She was married for 40 years, and after 10 weeks without him, she is once again rejoined with her loving husband Desiderio.

Maria leaves behind her daughters Dora and Elizabeth, her son John, grandchildren Mark, Austin, Emily, Kayden, Abraham and Adam, great-grandson Myles and many more beloved family and friends.

Maria enjoyed gardening and watching her flowers bloom year round. She also loved to cook and feed everyone she got a chance to. She was a loving and kindhearted individual who always gave those who needed it a helping hand. Family and friends were everything to her and she will truly be missed by all.

Unfortunately, Maria had no life or burial insurance.

This is a fundraiser to help towards lessening the burden of funeral costs and other family expenses. Anything helps, to include prayers for the family's strength, during these difficult times.

Her funeral service will be held at Sterling Funeral Homes in Dayton. Vigil service will be held on Friday, November 5th from 1600 - 2000. Funeral Mass will be held by Father Paul on Saturday, November 6th at 1000 at the funeral home. Show time will be at 0900. Her burial will follow at Cooke Memorial Cemetary in Liberty.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Laura's Sandwich Shop following the burial service. It will be a potluck get-together.

Mass in Honor of The Gift of Human Life will be held on Tuesday, November 16th at 1800 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Liberty.
