In Loving Memory of Maria DeVasto

I had the privilege of first meeting Maria DeVasto 5 years ago when I began working with her at the Chincoteague YMCA. I remember being in awe of her ability to calmly and lovingly control a room full of kids like it was nothing. She always brought a smile to my face with her witty jokes and fun personality. Though I only worked there over two summers, we reconnected in the early spring of 2020 at the dog park here on the Island, where we became close friends. Over the last year, Maria and I spent hours together nearly every day at the park, sharing stories, laughs, and occasional pieces of wisdom that I will cherish for the rest of my life.  She touched the lives of many, from Chincoteague Island, to New York City. She was a beautiful soul that will live on in our hearts forever.

I have created this Gofundme to help pay for any expenses her family may have as they make arrangements for her cremation and memorial service.
