In Loving Memory of Mandy Harnden (Hoekwater)

It's with a heavy heart that I share the news of Mandy's unexpected passing. She was not just a dear cousin, but also like a sister, my confidante and kindred spirit. Growing up, we shared countless memories of laughter, adventure, and endless love. Playing with Grandma's kittens was our favorite! From the trampoline jumps to playing Power Rangers in the trees, Mandy was always the Pink Ranger to my Purple Ranger, and Mike alternating between the Green and White Rangers. Sundays were filled with family, carnival parties, and creating game rooms after lunch. And who could forget the nights spent in Grandma's camper, huddled together, listening to her spine-chilling tales of Foxy Loxy, the three-legged fox.

Mandy's heart overflowed with compassion and kindness, radiating love in everything she did. She taught me every cheer as a cheerleader for rocket football, a testament to her unwavering support. Through the years, as we navigated life's twists and turns, our bond only grew stronger in time. And recently, as cat rescue became our shared passion, Mandy's heart shone even brighter. She fostered and adopted kittens, dedicated herself to feline wellness on our rescue team with Scarlett's Cat Sanctuary, and embraced each opportunity to make a difference – from setting up adoption events to baking the most delectable treats for fundraising. She was the shining light at our events, welcoming everyone with enthusiasm and kindness.
A devoted wife and a remarkable mother to Lincoln, Jackson, Katie, and Wally, Mandy's love knew no bounds. Her optimism and hope were contagious, even in the face of health challenges these past weeks. I'm beyond grateful for the moments we shared on the phone and in chat, holding onto her spirit of resilience and positivity.
Now, as we navigate this unimaginable loss, I feel the urge to honor Mandy's life and legacy. I want to extend a hand to her family, just as she would have done for us. In her memory, I'll be creating a GoFundMe campaign to offer support during this trying time. Mandy's heart was big enough to embrace us all, and now it's our turn to give back.
If you can spare a moment to remember Mandy's infectious laughter, her love for her family, cats and all animals, and her indomitable spirit, I would be grateful. Share this post, spread the love, and let's join hands to celebrate the beautiful life she lived. To her husband, children, and our entire family, you're in our thoughts and prayers. Let's stand together, united by the memories we treasure and the love that will forever connect us.
Rest in peace, dear Mandy. Your light will continue to shine through us all. ️❤️ #RememberingMandy #ForeverInOurHearts
