In Loving Memory of Malakai Troy Flores

On September 28, 2025, we faced the unimaginable loss of our beloved Malakai Troy Flores at just 14 years old. While down island doing what he loved most—playing hockey with his teammates and friends—Malakai experienced a severe anaphylactic shock that tragically took him way too soon. How do you go on a hockey trip and come home without your son?

Malakai lived his life bigger than most of us. He was kind, sweet, caring, and always thinking of others. His love language was giving—he would happily gift, share, or host anyone that needed anything. He was strong, athletic, and full of love, leaving a lasting impact on everyone who knew him.

Losing a son, a nephew , a grandson so young, so full of love, and so full of life is a pain beyond words for his family’s. While their hearts are shattered, the outpouring of love from friends, teammates, and the community reminds them that they are not alone in this. Malakai touched so many lives, and the support surrounding his family is a reflection of the light he carried with him every single day

We are raising funds to support Malakai’s family during this incredibly difficult time. Donations will help with funeral costs and provide some relief from financial burdens so his family can focus on grieving and honouring his beautiful life without added stress.
