On October 16, 2025, I unexpectedly lost my mom, Maggie. Maggie had been struggling mentally and emotionally since losing one of her daughters to suicide in February. My mom is survived by her daughter, Jessica and her brother, Mark.

Maggie Lefford was a beloved daughter, mother, friend, teacher, and person. Maggie was born to Mark Buchholz and Cleone Bowman on January 23, 1958. Maggie was a ray of sunshine with such a big heart. She loved animals, being outside, being with good company, and teaching.

For everyone who knew her, you knew she was upbeat, so optimistic, God-loving, and vibrant. Maggie loved to teach. Maggie had a love of dance since a young age and continued to share that love while teaching at Kinetic Arts Dance Studio in Evergreen, CO, while Jessica and Mariah attended. She also taught preschool in the Evergreen area for many years. In recent years since Covid-19, she taught Spanish from her home to elementary-aged students. I really can't believe you are gone, Mom. We love you so much, Maggie, and know you are reunited with Mariah. I look up to her so much on how to have faith and hope and share love at all times.

Funds will be used to pay for memorial costs, take care of Maggie's pets, provide security as I navigate managing what is left, and the remaining funds will be donated to American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.
