In Loving Memory of Luis Mazo

Dear Family & Friends,

On Tuesday, March 29, our beloved family member, friend, colleague, and teammate Luis Mazo Gutierrez sadly and unexpectedly passed away in his sleep. He was 35 years old.

As anyone who knew Luis and/or briefly came in contact with him you would know what a positive, caring, and overall loving human being he was. He was so proud of what he had accomplished during his time in New York, both personally and professionally. He truly dedicated his life to caring and cherishing his family, friends, and colleagues. Through his great passion in life, soccer, he befriended many of you and dedicated himself professionally to helping, coaching and mentoring countless kids in NYC soccer academies.

He leaves behind his mother Luz Gutierrez, father Pedro Luis Mazo, sister Leyre Mazo, and wife Michelle Pereira.

In an effort to help alleviate the burden for his family, as his passing was completely unexpected, we are now seeking to raise funds to cover for the costs associated with arranging the funeral, which will take place in Luis’ home country, Spain. We would like to give Luis a deserving memorial service, to honor Luis’ memory, and to say our last goodbyes.

Please consider donating if you can, any amount will truly help. As you can imagine, the costs involved with a funeral are considerable, and exponentially so with international arrangements involved. We are seeking to raise 11,000 USD in order to cover the costs of the funeral service and associated expenses.
