Our community is more than the places we work or the roles we hold. Over time, it becomes family.
Many of you know Isabel and Leo from their years working at Beverly Hills Porsche and Santa Monica Audi. I had the privilege of hiring them both early in their careers — Isabel as a receptionist and Leo as a porter. Even then, they stood out for their kindness, humility, and work ethic.
Over the years, it has been incredibly special to watch them grow. Today Isabel works as a Customer Experience Manager at Porsche, and Leo works as a Fleet Assistant at BMW. Like many of us, they built their lives and careers through the relationships formed along the way.
Recently, their family experienced an unimaginable loss. Their father, Luis, passed away suddenly at the age of 59.
Above all else, Luis loved his family deeply. He always put his children first and took great pride in providing for them. That devotion shaped the people his children have become today: Jessica, Luis, Elena, Isabel, and Leo.
Luis also had a deep love for the arts, film, and history. He introduced his children to the cultural heartbeat of Los Angeles through public radio like KCRW and NPR, and through a lifelong curiosity about the world. He was always learning, always exploring, and he passed that spirit on to his family.
During this incredibly difficult time, the family is facing unexpected financial responsibilities. This fundraiser is intended to help cover funeral costs and household expenses for the months ahead, allowing the family space to grieve without the immediate weight of financial pressure.
Any contribution, big or small, will make a meaningful difference. If you are unable to donate, sharing this page is another way to help.
If our community can come together for this family during such a difficult moment, it would mean more than words can express.
Thank you for supporting them during this heartbreaking time.
All my best,
Lauren
