In Loving Memory of Ludwig vanTrikt:
On July 7th, 2025, our beloved father, Ludwig vanTrikt, unexpectedly passed away from a heart attack while on his way to work. His sudden passing has left our family heartbroken, especially as he had recently been focusing on improving his health for the sake of his loved ones.
Ludwig was so much to so many — a devoted husband, an incredible father, a cherished brother, cousin, grandfather, and friend. His passion for jazz was unmatched. He spent years writing for Cadence Magazine, hosting WRTI’s Bitches Brew, and curating unforgettable jazz experiences at the Painted Bride. He was known throughout the community as a true jazz lover and connoisseur, with a heart just as full as his record collection.
He leaves behind his loving wife, with whom he just celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary this June — a milestone they joyfully marked on Ludwig’s own birthday, the day they wed. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his four children and thirteen grandchildren, all of whom loved him beyond words.
We are humbly asking for financial support to assist with funeral and burial expenses, and to help support the family he worked tirelessly to provide for. Ludwig spent his life ensuring his loved ones were taken care of, and we hope to honor him in the same way during this difficult time.
Any contribution, no matter the size, would mean so much to our family as we navigate this heartbreaking loss. Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and prayers.
With gratitude,
The vanTrikt Family
