It is with the heaviest of hearts that we share the devastating news that our beautiful friend, Lucy Timms, sadly lost her battle with leukaemia on Friday.

Lucy was a truly wonderful person. An incredible mum to Joshua and Amelia, a loving wife to Matthew, and a much-loved friend to so many. She was kind, caring, funny and full of love for her family and those around her. Her loss has left a hole in so many lives, and it’s difficult to put into words just how much she will be missed.

Nobody could have imagined how quickly life would change for Lucy and her family. What should have been a future filled with love, laughter and precious family memories has been taken from them in the cruellest of circumstances.

As friends of the family, we want to do whatever we can to help ease some of the burden they are now facing.

We have set up this fundraiser in the hope that, together, we can raise enough money to help cover the cost of Lucy’s wake and give her the beautiful send-off she deserves. Any money raised beyond these costs will go directly to Matthew and the children to help support them as they begin to navigate life without her.

We are aware that there may be some financial support available through other avenues, and these will of course be explored. However, our hope is that we can take away some of the immediate financial pressure, allowing Matthew and the children the space to grieve without the added worry of how everything will be paid for.

We know that no amount of money can begin to make up for the loss of Lucy. But if we can come together as friends, family and a wider community to make this heartbreaking time even a little easier, then that would mean the world.

Above all, we want Matthew, Joshua and Amelia to know that they are surrounded by people who love them, who loved Lucy, and who will be there for them in the difficult days, months and years ahead.
