In a tragic incident on June 7, 2019, Lola Gulomova, a Foreign Commercial Officer, and Jason Rieff, a Foreign Service Officer, passed away. For many of us, the loss of esteemed colleagues and cherished friends is unimaginable. Our grief is made worse by the fact that Lola and Jason leave behind two beautiful girls.

As close friends of the family and colleagues, we have set up this fundraiser to solicit your support for these two girls as they rebuild after this tragedy. We welcome any and all contributions from those who, like us, have been touched by this family. Our goal is to provide this fund as support to the girls as their situation evolves in coming weeks.

This fundraiser is managed by Jennifer Allen, Jenny Bah, Sienna Baron, Moira Jamrisko, Deena Parker, and Ceren Silva.

First, we would like to thank everyone for the generosity shown through their contributions to this fund. The immense support for these girls is clear and is greatly appreciated. With unsolicited and greatly appreciated help from our Foreign Service Family, we have been able to quickly arrange a legal trust for the girls. As we are also still processing our own grief and emotions, this legal assistance has meant the world to us. The trust is arranged so that the trustee can provide funds to the girls for emergency, health, and educational needs over time if needed, while also saving a significant portion for them when they become young adults. It is our intention to abide by the spirit with which we set up this fundraiser - to support these girls as best we can as they adjust to a new phase in life and beyond.
