n Loving Memory of Lily Chavez
With heavy hearts, we share the passing of our beloved grandmother, Lily Chavez, who left us peacefully on May 6th at the age of 96. Lily was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother—a true matriarch who spent her life creating a warm, loving home for her family.
Most of my cherished memories with her are in the kitchen. She had a special way of making everyone feel loved through food—always ready to cook everyone’s favorite meal, even if it meant preparing several different dishes at once. I remember running out to the garden to pick fresh tomatoes and cilantro for her, or helping her cut nopales in the backyard on hot summer days—moments that now feel like treasures.
Lily wasn’t one to say “I love you” often, but the way she cared for us spoke volumes. Her love was quiet, steady, and present in everything she did. She passed away from complications due to age and kidney issues, something she had been bravely battling for years. She is now reunited with her husband—my grandfather—and I find peace knowing they are together again.
Although my grandparents were diligent in maintaining life insurance, it’s not enough to give my grandmother the farewell she truly deserves. We are asking for support to help us honor her memory with a proper remembrance.
Anything you’re able to give—whether it’s a donation or simply sharing this page—means the world to us. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your kindness, generosity, and love during this difficult time.
