In Loving Memory of Leah Lemus – A Light Gone Too Soon
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Annabelle Lemus, and I’m writing this with a broken heart as the mother of Leah Lemus — my joyful, loving, and deeply compassionate 13-year-old daughter.
On May 20, 2025, Leah began feeling unwell and was vomiting. We took her to the hospital that night but didn’t get attended to until early the next morning, when we were told it was just a stomach flu. We never could have imagined that those would be some of our final moments with her. Just two days later, on May 23, our world was shattered. That morning, when we went to wake Leah, she was unresponsive. Despite all efforts, our beautiful girl was gone.
Leah was a light in all of our lives. Her giggle was infectious, her humor quirky, but uniquely hers, and her heart impossibly big. She loved animals and was especially close to her beloved dog, Deuce, who was very protective of her. She was a devoted sister to Genesis and Angel, a neice, granddaughter and a cherished daughter of a family that loved her more than words could ever express.
She was quite the character, playful, kind, and wise beyond her years. Leah loved her stuffed animals, playing video games like Valorant and Roblox, and spending time with her family watching Matilda. Her favourite places were Chinguacousy Park, Niagara Falls, and the beach, where she loved to swim and enjoy the sunshine with a cold bubble tea in hand. She was looking forward to her second camping trip this July and had a beautiful singing voice that we’ll miss hearing every day.
We are raising funds to help cover Leah’s funeral and burial expenses so we can honor her life and lay her to rest with the love, dignity, and the care she deserves. Any support — no matter how big or small — means more than we can say. Thank you for your support and for holding Leah in your hearts.
