In Loving Memory of Laurie (Lola)
As many of you know, we lost our beautiful sister Laurie on July 26th, 2025, after a courageous two-year battle with a rare form of cancer. Laurie was a vibrant soul and a loving single mother to an amazing little boy named Rohan, who is just 6 years old.
Due to unforeseen circumstances, Rohan is now in the foster care system. We are currently fighting to obtain temporary kinship care while his father works through the court’s requirements to regain custody. In the meantime, we want Rohan to be with family—where he belongs, especially during such a traumatic time.
Right now, Rohan is three hours away from us. We’re preparing to file a formal petition with the court to bring him home. Unfortunately, the county where he currently resides has taken legal guardianship, making the process more difficult and costly.
On top of fighting for Rohan, we are also trying to plan a Celebration of Life to honor Laurie and give her the send-off she truly deserves. We want to bring her three sons together to mourn, remember, and support one another in love and unity.
Laurie’s cremation is thankfully covered, so we are not asking for help with that. However, we are hoping to raise funds for:
Memorial vessels (urns) for each of her sons, so they can keep a part of their mom with them.
Legal and travel costs associated with bringing Rohan home.
A meaningful Celebration of Life gathering, where family and friends can come together to say goodbye and support each other.
Some may wonder why we are focusing on Rohan. Laurie’s two older sons are being lovingly raised by their grandmothers, and we are deeply grateful for their care and stability. Rohan, however, needs us right now more than ever.
Laurie was young and didn't expect to lose this fight. Sadly, nothing was set aside for her end-of-life arrangements. Any donation, no matter the size, will go directly toward supporting her sons—especially Rohan—and ensuring Laurie gets the farewell she deserves.
If you're unable to contribute financially, please consider sharing our story. And most of all, keep Laurie’s boys in your prayers as we navigate this heartbreaking time.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your love, kindness, and support.
