It is with a heavy heart that I share the passing of my beautiful mother, Laura Pérez. She was the glue and backbone of our family — a strong, selfless, and caring woman whose laughter could light up any room. My mother had a contagious sense of humor and an unwavering love for her family. She sacrificed so much to achieve the American dream and always put others before herself.

For the past three years, my mother bravely battled stage four liver cancer. Through every challenge, she showed us what true strength, courage, and faith look like. Even in her hardest moments, she never lost her smile and continued to reassure us that everything would be alright.

As our fierce protector and a woman of deep faith, she always reminded me that this is not goodbye — it’s simply see you later. I find comfort in knowing that she is now with God, watching over us as she always did.

I am her oldest daughter, and I’m creating this fundraiser to help cover funeral expenses and the transportation of her remains to Ecuador, so she may be laid to rest in her home country surrounded by the love and land she cherished.
