In loving memory of our dad - Jitu - who suddenly passed away from a ruptured oesophagus. His sudden and immediate passing has left us in a state of shock, particularly given dad was so meticulous when it came to his health and had nothing wrong with him. No doubt a large part of this was down to him keeping active with a morning routine of yoga, walks and on a sunny day a little jog in the garden!

We had never heard of a ruptured oesophagus, and in doing some research it appears to be rare; the only comfort we can take is that it is quick and as such dad didn't suffer. Due to its rarity, there isn't a particular charity for this but we have chosen the following two charities which are related to the treatment of other conditions related to the oesophagus.
