This Saturday, May 9th, my brother Lamont left this world far too soon. Our hearts are shattered, but even in our grief, we can’t help but smile a little — because Lamont, being the silly, loving soul he was, decided he was going to see his mom in heaven for Mother’s Day. That was him: always finding a way to make meaning, to make us laugh, to make us feel held.
Lamont showed up for people. He loved loudly. He lived with a heart that stretched far beyond himself. His children were everything to him, and we want to bring them together so they can honor their father and say their final goodbyes.
We are raising funds to cover his funeral services and to fly his children out to be with family during this heartbreaking time. Anything you give — whether a donation or a share — helps us honor Lamont with the dignity and love he deserves.
