Lakara Nolen passed away unexpectedly on April 8, 2022 at age 34, leaving behind her son, Semaj, her mother, Karen, and her brothers, Antoine and Kumari.  Lakara grew up in Oakland, California, and attended UC Davis as an undergraduate.  After obtaining her Master's Degree in Social Work from CSU Northridge, she returned to the Davis area.   Lakara was a dedicated social worker who served children and families in Sacramento and Yolo Counties  through her work with Stanford Youth Solutions,  CommuniCare Health Centers, and Yolo County Health and Human Services Agency.  Lakara approached her work with children and families with passionate energy and was a force for good in this world. Her light and spirit will be missed by all who knew her.

 

This fundraiser intends to provide the family with support for any funeral expenses and other costs related to supporting Semaj in the future. Please consider contributing whatever you can to assist this family during this difficult time.
