In Loving Memory of Kristen Hanrahan

It is with immense grief and heavy hearts we announce that on Saturday, January 14, Kristen Hanrahan unexpectedly passed away.

Kristen was deeply loved as a mother of two children, sister, and friend. And, of course, she loved and was loved by her treasured community of fellow nurses, first responders, and healthcare workers.

Kristen’s vibrant and giving spirit could be felt by all who interacted with her. She was always advocating for her coworkers and her patients. She lead by example and with remarkable empathy and patience. She worked to build a healthier, happier life for her two children, overcoming unfathomable tragedy in her own. She dreamed of making the world a better place—and she did.

Funds raised will be used for her funeral and for related expenses as needed by her sister—and to create more financial security for her cherished children, Ezra (17) and Jackson (3), as guided by Kristen’s own final wishes.

Thank you to her friends, coworkers, students and family for bringing so much joy to Kristen's life—and for taking this fundraiser into consideration. Whatever you can contribute, small or large, will help her family tremendously.

Your generosity has been astounding and overwhelming. Your kindness and open hearts are truly a reflection of Kristen and the way she envisioned this world. I’m so incredibly thankful for everyone continuing to share this fund and for providing the means to help her boys. Our profound thanks to all of you.

Fund Distribution: The beneficiary of these funds is Sarah Hanrahan (Kristen's Sister). Funds are designated to be used by Sarah Hanrahan for Kristen's estate and Kristen's sons, Jackson and Ezra. These funds may be used to pay for end-of-life costs associated with Kristen including funerary costs, burial costs, costs related to Kristen's estate (including bills, legal fees, trust fees for boys, etc), and other costs as determined by Sarah Hanrahan. The amount left over will be placed in a trust or other financial account for her two children according to Kristen's final wishes (distribution over a period of time, if possible).
