In Loving Memory of Kris Jillian

This gofundme is created for the convenience of my beloved cousin, Kris Jillian’s family, relatives, co-workers and friends from all over the world who would like to extend monetary assistance (or “abuloy”) for the family. Please do not share this publicly on your social media profiles. This is strictly for immediate relatives, co-workers and friends of Kris. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers monetary donations through this gofundme. The funds will go directly to the family.

It is with profound sadness and sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved Kris Jillian Asuncion De-Guzman of Edmonton, Alberta on March 19, 2023 at the age of 34 after a courageous battle with cancer. Kris was born in the Philippines and moved to Canada to reunite with her family in 2017. She worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse and then as Clinic Manager.

She was a high-spirited, selfless, kind, generous, and exceptional woman I’ve ever known; a very responsible daughter that every parent would love to have; a loving and strong wife; a generous sister who’s always there to comfort and help her siblings both emotionally and financially.

She will be remembered as a compassionate friend & cousin who’s always ready to listen; a kind and patient co-worker/manager who unhesitantly provides encouragement to the team. She’s a supportive, grateful & hardworking staff that every employer would yearn for. She always sees goodness and says positive things about others, such an incredible woman! And even after her cancer diagnosis, she still kept her steadfast faith in Jesus, equipping her with strength and courage in her battle until the very end. Kris may be gone but will never be forgotten! Her legacy and good deeds will live on forever….

There will be 2 days of service in memory of her. Visitors can pick which days they want to come.

A Memorial Service and “Celebration of Life” to honour her memory will take place on Thursday, March 23 from 4:00PM - 9:00PM at Hainstock’s Funeral Home (9810- 34 Ave NW Edmonton, AB). Family and friends who wanted to share stories about her are welcome to come on this day.

Then please join us for a funeral viewing and mass on Friday, March 24 at St. Thomas More Parish (210 Haddow Close NW, Edmonton, AB T6R 2P3). Viewing time will be held at the rosary room from 10:00AM-11:30PM, mass will be held at 12:00PM-1:00PM then reception after that.

There will be a reception after the service/mass on both days. Let her know which day you’d like to come. Thank you for your support through this difficult time.
